During the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, BC we got hired by DC to build out a bus for transportation from downtown to Grouse Mountain. The idea was that from February 12th to the 28th anyone could ride the bus for free, all night long, because Grouse Mountain was open all night. This was a sort of questionable marketing campaign that they thought would work because there were huge crowds of sports fans flooding the city. The thing is, they all want to party from ten pm to five am and not going skiing.
Regardless, we were hired to run the bus, whether anyone rode it or not and it turned out to be pretty much ‘not’. Next, the city public transport put up a huge fit about the program so it was a bit of a wash overall, but our first, and last, international grease excursion.
