During the winters of 2005 - 2010 we worked with Mt Hood Meadows to provide carbon-neutral transportation solutions for Portland-area skiers and snowboarders. Passengers would register online for a roundtrip ticket from our NE Portland office up to Mount Hood, powered by vegetable oil from local restaurant waste.

On the construction side, we built out the office near the Franz Bakery on the corner of Burnside and Sandy and added a five-hundred square foot area to house all of the grease and related filtration. We had three buses (Lucky, Dusty & Ned), which had all been converted to heat, filter and dewater our soybean-based fuel supply. We welded custom racks to contain all the gear on the roof of each bus. Partnering with Skullcandy, we wired in headphones that linked to an overhead display in each bus and built sampling racks for our sponsors like Clif Bar, Popchips, Vitaminwater, Heart Coffee and Guayaki Yerba Mate.

Thank you to the Greasebus crew, all of our riders, Mt Hood Meadows, and Sustainability Manager - Heidi Logosz, for such an amazing five-year collaboration. We will never forget it!
