VIDEOGRAPHY

I’ve always enjoyed shooting and editing videos and have worked with most camera systems, Final Cut Pro and Premiere Pro. I like color grading, sound design and story telling.

Nike

It was an honor to work with Nike on the video they presented to Kevin Hart when bringing him on as a brand ambassador. Kevin rallies huge groups of people to go for a run together through his program called Hustlehart. The theme of the edit is the power behind coming together. For this project Nike provided most of the media so my role was in the edit, sound design, titling, remove color and grade contrast.

Willamette Week

Around 2010 I worked with the Portland-based weekly newspaper on a video series centered around live music called Generator. We would shoot at venues like the Wonder Ballroom, the Doug Fir, Crystal Ballroom, and Mississippi Studios with a crew of five cameras. Prior to the show we would work with a band to figure out which song they wanted to feature and set up audio capture at the soundboard. With a different camera angle for each instrument I would stack the video files in Premiere and cut back and forth depending on where the audio was most relevant. The morning after a show the Willamette Week would promote the edit on their site and again in the paper the next Wednesday. This edit is a montage of some of the bands we worked with like Red Fang, Phosphorescent, RaRaRiot, Shovels & Rope, Denver and The Lonesome Billies.

Shutterfly

I used to work with the Portland-based digital sourcing agency STALKR who helped me find relevant homes for lots of my personal clips. As a bit of a side-hustle while I worked on our homebuilding project I was able to license two-year agreements on a bunch of clips to Shutterfly, Facebook, New York Life. Here’s a funny one where Nico and I are used in the bulk of the edit, but some random family gets the final frame. Imposters!

York Athletics

It was great to work with my friends Mark and Andrew on this edit for York Athletics. They wanted to create an artist profile that touched on the negative effects of overworking oneself and the importance of exercise and creativity to combat unhealthy stress hormones.

Andrew is one of my favorite artists of all time so it was inspiring to shoot in his studio and to follow him to a Velodrome, which I had never been in before. I think this was shot on the first rendition of the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema camera with a speedbooster and a few prime lenses.
