CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS
My first construction project was at the Andover Skatepark, back in 1996, but years later when my soon-to-be-wife bought a house near Alberta and 22nd, in NE Portland, our first major remodel project began together. We started by removing the asbestos siding, refinishing the floors, and then added new windows and trim, then finished with a roof, paint job, and lots of landscaping, which Maegen excels at. We learned a lot on this project, which laid the foundation for future endeavors and eventually led me to get my contractor license for the projects listed in the accordion panel below.

Before

After

Our beloved front porch

Working on the 'grass couch' and the 'up-cycled' pallet fence in the backyard

The finished couch, fence and landscaping

The backyard with hammock, recessed covered patio, and chimenea

A look at the condition of the siding that was under the asbestos as we swap out some windows

Lots of sanding, priming and painting on this project

Pouring a slab that I would break into concrete patio 'pavers'

Installing the pavers and composing soil for step-ables to grow between

I helped our next door neighbors, Johnny & Bailey, build a ramp in their backyard around the time of the painting project, judging by the green facia over there

We sold the house just a few weeks before our wedding

We bit off a bit more than we could chew on this one, but kept chewing for a decade as we added twelve-hundred and sixty square feet and completely transformed every square inch of the half-acre property.

This was a fence project at our children’s preschool with some pretty humorous images.
-
This was a coffeeshop design/build project during 2017 in SE Portland called Fairlane Coffee.

For three years I was the Oregon Dealer for Lindal Cedar Homes, who have shipped 50,000 house packages worldwide. As an independent dealer I filed my contractors license under the name ‘Homecraft.’
